Untangling & Transforming

When you’re a kid, you don’t realize that you’re watching your parents grow up, too.

I read something like this recently & it hit me hard. All of our kids are in school all day now & their needs are obviously different than when they were younger. I have more time for me now & honestly I feel like I’m meeting myself for the first time.

I’m rediscovering who I am & what I want & what I need. It’s an exciting time, but somehow scary, too, letting a little control go. Letting go of the need to do everything for them & now start to take care of myself. It’s liberating & thrilling & fun, meeting yourself & actually liking what you see. Untangling & transforming & uncovering & becoming. I’m looking forward to learning more. I’m still growing up.
